Frame ; is the first year for the new spring frame with twin front down tubes and rear
coil compression and rebound suspension. The rake is increased in 1940 for better
road handling.

Front; leaf-spring fork, chrome Motolamp housing with chrome front lens
door, original chrome handlebar with internal gas, ignition coils, chrome
handlebar switches, black rubber Indian grips, original black hub ,16 chrome rim with
stainless spokes, original drum type front brake, front tire AVOM MK II 5.00-16,
original skirted front fender with chrome beads (strips), original fender-light with
Indian head.

Drive train; 73.62 (1200 cc) 42º V-Twin side valve, aluminium heads, 12 volt BOSCH
generator, BOSCH voltage regulator, battery ignition with AUTO-LITE distributor,
carburettor model Linkert M-344, dry-sump lubrication by original oil pump, 3-speed
sliding gear transmission, chrome kick starter, primary drive is a four-row chain in a
cast-aluminium oil bath case chain housing, final drive is single chain, 2 into 1
chrome exhaust pipe, civilian style chrome muffler, chrome INDAIAN J-slot air filter.

Rear; original drum brake, 16 chrome rim with stainless spokes, black hub, rear tire
AVOM MK II 5.00-16, original skirted rear fender with chrome beads (strips), tail lamp
model 1936-53, chrome rear fender bumper, rear crash guard (left and right side,
leather bag on the left side with Harley logo, red painted rear chain guard.

Other items; chief gas tank with integrated oil tank, chrome hand shift lever, petcock
gas shut-off valve, model 1938-47 aluminium dash cover, Corbin speedometer with
kilometres indication, Harley-Davidson ignition switch, brown solo saddle, black
footboards, black side stand, 12V coil, replica wiring, chrome faced horn.

Extra informatie; 1940 is het eerste jaar waarin de Indian Chief werd uitgerust met
volle spatborden. Deze motorfiets is geheel gereviseerd en opnieuw opgebouwd met
gebruik van veel originele onderdelen. Alle delen zijn voorzien van een nieuwe laklaag
en alle chromen delen zijn van goede kwaliteit. Het motorblok, de versnellingsbak en alle
bewegende delen zijn gereviseerd.
